Riding Lessons

Our riding lessons are geared towards helping you reach your individual riding goals as we teach a balanced seat, soft hands and how to communicate with your four-legged partner in or out of the saddle. Our experienced riding instructors are sensitive to the needs of our clients  and try to get to know them each personally and have built relationships based on trust and respect. We offer a wide array of diverse disciplines including in Dressage, Western Pleasure and Hunt Seat

SPECIALIZING IN THE BEGINNER AND ADULT RIDERS

Lesson Information

Ages 7 and up

Beginner children must take private lessons and be able to walk/trot before joining a group. Children ages 5-6 are considered on an individual basis and must schedule a visit to the barn.

• Private 1/2 hour:* $35.00
• Private 1 hour: $50.00
• Group lesson** (2 – 4 riders): $35.00 per hour per person
*Private 1/2 hr students must be able to independently get & tack their own horse & be proficient at walk /trot (1/2 lessons are scheduled per Instructor’s approval)
**Group lessons based on availability; riders must be at beginner (independent) walk/trot level

Grooming, tacking up & basic horsemanship / safety methods are included into lessons. If a student is independent in basic ground skills, grooming & tacking up, they may arrive 15 minutes earlier to do so. Students are also required to clean their tack and take care of their horse before leaving.

Package Deals

Prepay 6-pack of 1-hour riding lessons, save $5 per lesson.

  • 6 Private lessons: $270
  • 6 Group lessons: $180

All riders are required to have an ASTM/SEI approved riding helmet, wear long pants or breeches and a closed toe shoe or boot with a low heel. Facility does have some helmets available for use.

*Cancellation Policy: To avoid session fees 24 hour notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling

SPECIALTY GROUPS:

Adult Women’s Horsemanship

Sundays 9:00-noon
This specialty group offers fun adult camaraderie & a solid horsemanship foundation that goes beyond the saddle. Includes Natural Horsemanship, ground-skills, safety & care, along with structured riding & more. Great for the budding horsewoman to those looking lease/own. Must be able to walk/trot independently.  Cost: $40 per week or 6-pack (pre-pay 6 lessons) $210.  

Barn Ratz

Saturdays, 9am-2pm (multiple tracks, ages 7-17yrs)
This specialty group is for the young rider who wants go beyond the saddle and learn all aspects of horsemanship. The multi-tired hands-on program allows students to explore and develop skills in Barn Management, Anatomy & Physiology, Ground-Skills, Natural Horsemanship, & Riding. Additional opportunities are available to students as they hone their skills & become more independent. This is an on-going program for committed riders. Riders must be able to independently ride walk/trot & have solid basic ground skills. Space is limited & riders must be approved by coaches. Cost: $40 per week or 6-pack (pre-pay 6 lessons) $210.  

SEASONAL PROGRAMS:

Saddle Up!–“Adult Camp”

Intensive weekend program designed especially for adults who have always dreamed of “saddling up” or those who want to get “back in the saddle.” This 2 1/2 day camp offers a fun adult atmosphere, solid horsemanship, socializing & games wrapped around the care-free camps of your youth. 
Sessions:
Camp 1: August 31, September 1 & 2
Camp 2: October 5, 6 & 7
Days & Hours:
♦ Friday, 5:00-7:30pm: Meet & greet staff, horses & campers at a fire-pit social complete with smores & light fairside fare.
♦ Saturday & Sunday, 9:00am -3:00pm: Come ready to saddle-up for all day horsey fun!
Cost: $210 per person. 
♦ $100 non-refundable deposit required to hold your spot.

♦  Posse up:$10 off your registration fee when you bring a friend!
♦  Double Trouble:
Take $20 off your second camp when you register for both weekends!

2018-2019 Kids’ Fall & Spring Horsemanship Program

A hands-on interactive experience for children 8-17yrs. Activities include horse behavior, safety & care, along with ground-skills, horse games & more! Excellent horsemanship foundational work for beginners & experienced. 
Sessions: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3-5:30pm

FALL SESSION:
    ◊  Fall Full Session (Tues & Thurs): Sept 18-27, Oct 2-30, Nov 1-15
    ◊  Fall 1/2 Session (Tuesdays): Sept 18, 25, Oct 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, Nov 6 & 13
    ◊  Fall 1/2 Session (Thursdays): Sept 20, 27, Oct 4, 11, 18, 25, Nov 1, 8, 15

SPRING SESSION:
    ◊  Spring Full Session (Tues & Thurs): March 26-28, April 2-11 & 23-30, May 2-30
    ◊  Spring 1/2 Session (Tuesdays): March 26, April 2, 9, 23, 30, May 7, 14, 21, 28
    ◊  Spring 1/2 Session (Thursdays): March 28, April 4, 11, 25, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

Costs:
    •
Full Session: $685/session   *[$300 deposit to hold seat]
    •  1/2 Session: $340/session    *[150 deposit to hold seat]
    •  Full payment is due by/before 1st day of session.  Deposits are non-refundable. There are no credits/refunds for missed or canceled sessions. 
**Please Note: Registration, Emergency Care and Equine Activity Release Forms MUST be submitted with deposit in order to hold child’s seat. **

Discounts:
    •  Save an additional $25 on your Spring Session, when you sign up for both Fall & Spring.
    •   After initial child, Discount $25 for additional sibling(s).
    •   Current Barn Ratz take an additional $25 off per session.
Discounts will Not apply to balances not paid by/before 1st day of session.
